Originally bound in two volumes, the Holy Land Set was re-configured into three volumes as the publication of the First Edition proceeded, since it was felt by some that the original two volume configuration resulted in books that were too large and heavy to easily handle and view. This beautifully bound set contains the third Petra Title Vignette produced at the time of the re-configuation. The exceptional full leather bindings are tooled not only on the outside and spines, but on the inside cover edges as well. Volume dimensions are 24 1/4" x 17 3/4"x 1 3/8"

This set was held in the library of Alliance College, located in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. The college was founded by the Polish National Alliance in 1912 "to provide opportunities for Americans of Polish descent to learn about the mother country, its culture, history, and language". These volumes were sold when the college closed in 1987. Some library markings and blind stamps remain, as more fully depicted and described on the following pages. Offered at $15,000
